2025 Run Retrospective
The 2025 Kenai River salmon season saw unprecedented numbers of late-run sockeye, leading the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to increase sport limits to 6 fish daily and extend personal-use dipnetting options. Conversely, late-run king salmon escapement numbers remained low, resulting in retention closures for the entire Chinook sport fishery.
